I found using the site Last.fm to be very useful and fun. It allows you to look up artists, shows you albums they have released and even recommends similar artists you may like. I love that feature because I am always looking for some new bands to discover.
I also found Yelp to be very helpful. Whether looking for food, shopping, just about anything this site helps you find a great place to go and gives you many options. Very informative. Glad I came across these sites. :-)
